Breathe to Balance, a 75-min class, Sunday, Mar 30, 10-11:15am
In this 75-minute class, we’ll explore the transformative power of pranayama (breathwork rooted in yogic wisdom) to self-regulate and balance the nervous system. We’ll begin with 15 minutes of gentle movement (asana) to open the chest, side body, and upper-mid back. After reviewing proper techniques, benefits, and contraindications, we’ll move into our pranayama practice. We’ll conclude with a grounding meditation and time for reflection. Beginners to yoga and breathwork are always welcome.
A note on my approach to breathwork - I teach breathwork using a trauma-informed framework as part of a holistic yoga practice. I do not encourage altered states of consciousness in my classes. My intention is always to bring you back home to your body. If you are pregnant or have been diagnosed with a lung condition, please contact me before registering to discuss whether this offering is suitable for you.
